I wonder if I was a dog in any of my past lives
December 22, 2023
This little keyboard is so neat. Good purchase, past Leah. Even if you didn’t use it when you bought it. As soon as I unfold it and it connects, the keyboard on the phone screen disappears and I just see the open document. Technology, man. So cool.
Chubbs being ready to start shit right after he eats and potties, not cool. He’s just amped up and ready to go. And I’m over here like let me drink my tea (without caffeine) once it cools and then we can go start shit. So impatient. Oh, to be a two and half year old puppy again. I wonder if I was a dog in any of my past lives. Which I’m pretty sure I have at least one past life under my belt. I imagine if I didn’t this life would feel so much different. I think I’d be a lot more… angry. And less empathetic. I wonder if empathy and number of past lives are related. Seems like they would be.
I woke up with the Hall of Fame One Republic song stuck in my head. “Be teachers, be leaders, be astronauts, be preachers. Be believers, be readers, be astronauts, be truth seekers.” I don’t believe ‘readers’ is actually in the lyrics and I don’t believe ‘astronauts’ is in there twice, but the ones that stuck out and I know with 99.9% certainty are in the lyrics are ‘teachers’, ‘leaders’, ‘truth seekers’. I know with 99.8% certainty that ‘preachers’ and ‘believers’ are in there or at least in the version my memory provided me with this morning. ‘Astronauts’ is definitely in there, but I’ve been very clear about not wanting to go to space. If I have to, okay, but it is not on my list of things to do at the moment. I still have so much to see on this planet.
I’ll listen to that song in a little while to see what nuggets I get. I do believe the universe played that one on my smart mix the other night on my walk with Chubbs for a reason. It did help me in that moment, so thanks for that.
Oh, and since I’m typing out these morning thoughts and already thanked you once, universe – good morning, spirits, guides, angels, god, source, universe and thank you :)
I much prefer the idea of all us humans and those listed above coming from the same place and being one with a single source whether you want to call it god, universe, source. I don’t remember the title of the book and it might be my philosopher’s note for the day — haven’t listened yet – and wouldn’t that be a treat. But the book included the story of gods deciding where to hide the divine power or whatever and they thought they couldn’t hide it on top of the tallest mountains, or in the earth or oceans because humans would eventually find it, so they hid it INSIDE humans – at our core, this divine power and energy and source that we all have. I MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer that idea. Some of the Bible stuff I just can’t get on board with which is why, as you know, I’ve always considered myself spiritual and not religious, but I’ve recently realized they're not mutually exclusive. And I’ll look up the definition shortly, but practices can be religious. I think. Like, my daily walks are done religiously? I think that’s accurate. Let’s see. One moment. Okay, yes, that is accurate. And religion I guess I always tied to cultural and societal norms – going to church like an actual physical church building, with pews, and in my case, a Catholic Church, or one of the other churches I’ve attended in my 33 years. Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, non-denominational. I guess I always felt religion as performative. People going to a building one or two days a week, sitting in pews, listening to sermons, behaving under the eyes of god, and then as soon as they leave the building they’re back to their same shit. And some didn’t even have to leave the building. I always felt something was off or wrong with this way of ‘doing’ religion and why I never heavily bought into any of it, instead going on my spiritually merry way and defining it for myself. I am a believer. I guess I also didn’t like that calling myself religious, in my head, put me into the same category of performative church-goers. If someone asked when I was young if I believed in god or if I was religious or if I was Christian, I would say yes I did, yes I was, and yep, sure am. It felt performative then and not like I was lying, but absolutely like I was protecting myself. It’s like I knew in my heart what I know now, but didn’t have the knowledge or experience to support it yet. Who knows what direction my life would’ve taken if I had said I didn’t believe in god and had to experience being ‘saved’ at one of those church camps. Indoctrinated. I just looked up the definition, but you knew that. My life would be very different. Also reflecting on how I answered these questions and acted in these situations when I was younger is further support that I’ve lived a number of past lives. You know, I do think my empathy is most definitely tied to them – my past lives. And being able to feel how and what I need to do to protect myself. Just looked into the Clairs and I’m not sure if it was Claircognizance (knowing) or Clairsentience (feeling). Likely both.
I’ve been writing for a while now and I feel silly thinking about the time I’ve lost because I was afraid of writing I guess. Afraid of getting started. It is really and truly the hardest part. But, I can do hard things.
The article I tapped on to read more about the Clairs supported how I started this entry – about the song and is actually a sign of being Clairaudient. Which makes me think about the lyrics to that Beach Boys song I was able to pick up on while I was talking to my dad. Spirit said hold up a sec and listen to these lyrics. Thank you, spirit. I maybe haven’t gotten the exact message from all of the signs I’ve noticed, but I have noticed and I eventually get the entire message. That one took me a while… like months until I read the lyrics again. It’s such a good feeling knowing spirit has my back. Thanks again.
Okay, time to walk ol’ Chubby boi who is being very good and napping on the couch. Very patient today.
Until tomorrow or until something happens that I must write down. :)
